Kitland Games makes short daily games. We collect as little as we can, we don't sell anything about you, and there are no ads or third-party trackers.
What we collect, and why
- Your account: your email address (to sign you in, and for password resets), or, if you use Continue with Google, the email address Google shares with us. Accounts are handled by Amazon Cognito.
- Your username, which other players can see (for example on leaderboards).
- Your games: each day's play (your answers and score), so you can come back to it, keep a streak, and see how you compare.
- Usage events: things like "started a game", "finished", "shared", tied to a random account id, not your email. We use them to see which puzzles work and to fix problems.
- Server logs: technical records of requests (for security and debugging), which can include your IP address.
Cookies
Only the ones needed to keep you signed in. They're secure, can't be read by scripts, and aren't used for advertising. Your browser also remembers a few settings (like sound on or off) on your device only.
Who else handles your data
We run on Amazon Web Services, which stores and processes data for us. If you use Continue with Google, Google handles that sign-in. We don't share your data with anyone else, except if the law requires it.
How long we keep it
- Your account and username: until you delete your account.
- Your game history: each game's details (your answers) for 180 days. The list of days you played (for your streak): until you delete your account in WikiDivr, and for 180 days in Timelinz.
- Usage events: up to 2 years. Server logs: up to 1 year.
- Anonymous daily totals (like "512 people played today"): kept, since they say nothing about you.
Your choices
You can delete your account at any time: that removes your account, username and game history right away. For anything else (a copy of your data, a correction, or a question), email contact@kitlandgames.com.
Children
The games are for people 13 and older. If you think a child under 13 has an account, email us and we'll delete it.
Changes
If this policy changes in a meaningful way, we'll say so on the site before it takes effect.
